Continuing Education Credit Program


CACEA’s Continuing Education Credit (CEC) Program is an annual requirement for members, designed to showcase our community’s commitment to professional excellence and continuous learning. It ensures that CACEA Energy Advisors (EA) stay informed, credible, and up to date with industry standards and best practices.

Program Benefits
  • Demonstrates commitment to ongoing education and skill enhancement through training, field-based events, and upskilling.
  • Provides a record of learning useful for employers and stakeholders in career development, hiring, or promotions.
  • Validates professional development for organizations such as utilities and program providers who use and promote EAs for their initiatives.
  • Reinforces the reliability and expertise of CACEA’s EAs.

CACEA has a Continuing Education Credit (CEC) program for our Full and Junior EA Members.

CEC Program Requirements


This program applies to Full and Junior EA members in good standing.

Members must:

  • Complete 18 approved CECs annually (1 credit = 1 hour of approved education/training)
  • Track their CECs from January 1 to December 31
  • Record all credits in their member profile, with proof of participation as required
  • Ensure all learning activities are:
  • Relevant to EA work or expertise
  • Pre-approved or reviewed by CACEA

Members who join mid-year begin tracking CECs in January of the following year.

Complete the Continuing Education Credit Request Form

CACEA’s Education Committee will:

  • Review your submission
  • Assign credits (if applicable)
  • Notify the program provider of the outcome
